Church marks anniversary of Newark priest

A special celebration is planned at St. Michael's Church, Newark, on May 28, at the 11 a.m. Mass.

The occasion will be the 70-year anniversary of the ordination of Fr. Joseph McDonnell, who spent more than one half of his priesthood at the Newark church. He was ordained in June 1930 and has served the Diocese of Rochester for 70 years. On May 28, parishioners will join with him in prayer at the Eucharist.
