Newark student songs hail veterans

The sixth grade students in the enrichment program at Newark Middle School have written and produced three songs in tribute to World War II veterans.

Two of the songs are based on information and recollections of area veterans whom they interviewed; the third is a song of thanks to the veterans.

On May 29 - WACK 1420 Radio will air all three songs consecutively, starting at noon. The children in the enrichment program, under the direction of Cindy Shepardson, also published a magazine entitled 'Shimmery.'

The musical tribute was put together under the direction of Nancy Bryan.
