Some United Church members awoke to a strange sight last Sunday morning - posters with the picture of their pastor, Rev. Dan Meyer, planted on their lawn. Each poster, while featuring a picture of Rev. Dan taken 30 years ago, was individually customized so as to provide a variety of 'looks.'

Members of the United Church family paid ten dollars each to have these posters placed, with the money going toward the church's 'Make a Difference Day' project - memory kits for mothers who have lost their babies during pregnancy, in childbirth, or in infancy. In addition, funding will go toward training a grief counselor.

Although the cost to Rev. Dan's ego was considerable, the project succeeded in raising $244.

Rev. Dan will also be spending an hour (2-3 p.m.) 'in jail' at the Garlock House on Tuesday, Nov. 14 to raise money for the Red Cross. If you would like to contribute to his cause, please contact the United Church office at 926.5501.

The Friends of the Marion Public Library Holiday Fund-raiser. Come to the Library Nov. 1-13 or call 926.0810 to order. The glass ornament sets sell for $8 with $2 from each set sold donated to the Library.
