Erie Canal Cultural Center plans Holiday Fest The Erie Canal Cultural Center, located at 165 Water St., Lyons, will have a Holiday Fest on November 18 from 10 to 5, and November 19, from 1 to 6 p.m.The weekend includes an arts and crafts show, featuring hand-crafted glass ornaments; paintings on glass; framed photography; baked goods; and a selection of herbal teas and special coffees. The Ripples exhibition, a collaborative with Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES arts enrichment program, opens Friday, November 17, with an open house from 7 to 8 in the evening. Ripples is a publication of art and creative writing by high school students in the 25 school districts comprising BOCES. The Center will display holiday trees (grown by local growers) decorated by area groups, including Girl Scouts, churches, the Wayne County Tourism office, Waterloo's Memorial Day committee and Kids Peace. In all, the Center expects to have over 20 unique trees for the public to view. The holiday tree display and the Ripples exhibition will remain open through December 16. Exhibition hours are 1-6 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays; and 10 to 4 on Saturdays.
