Sodus churches plan Thanksgiving Eve service

Area churches welcome the entire community to a Service of Thanksgiving, Wednesday Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Hosted at the United Third Methodist Church, 56 W. Main St., Sodus, Council of Churches wants everyone to feel invited to attend, even if they don't have a church home.

'The Methodist Church is the largest church building in the area,' stated Eldon Lathrop, Pastor of Harvest Fellowship Assembly of God, 'so it was natural to make that the host church.'

'This is a service for the whole community,' said Pastor Bill Mann, new pastor to Sodus UTMC, 'Thanksgiving is a tradition that extends beyond the boundaries of the church and reaches out to all men and women,' Mann continued.

Featured in the program is a choral selection for the Community Choir and music from the praise band, SpiritFire. Invitations have been sent to over 20 local churches inviting them to send choir members or solo singers to participate in a Community Choir selection. SpiritFire is a contemporary praise band who leads the 9 a.m. worship service at the Methodist Church.

An offering will be taken that evening for 'Tools of Hope,' an organization that provides basic farm tools to families around the world. Refreshments will be served following the Service.
