Newark plans blood drive for Nov. 25

The Methodist and Baptist Churches of Newark will sponsor a blood drive on Saturday, November 25 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church, South Main Street, Newark.

There continues to be a shortage of necessary blood to help with the increased demand. Please plan to donate on November 25. If you have never donated blood before, just one donation can give the gift of life to someone. One donation can help up to five people.

Advances in medical technology have increased the number of procedures - such as organ transplants- that require additional supplements of blood. Demand has outpaced the supply. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds and be in good health.
