Marion gets new sign

new Marion sign The first Marion Merchants Association Project has life!

The project consisted of assembling 110,999 CD Packets, earning a sum of $4400. This was accomplished with the assistance of Tom Barton, Graphic Communications Resource and over 60 volunteer people volunteer people, and the use of the Marion Fire Department building for the four nights needed to accomplish this feat.

Steve Schutt made the sign and set it at the North Main Street entrance into Marion.

Peter Stevens arranged the landscaping for his Explorer Scout Project, under the direction of John Bovet.

The second sign will go up on the North end in the spring.

Another project in the wind, is the placing of flower baskets on the light and telephone poles in downtown Marion.
