Another fun and busy season is here and Wayne County has many fun things in the planning for you.

I bet now when Ralph Everdyke reads the weather forecast for New York, he's glad to be golfing in Florida's 80 degrees.

This Saturday (Nov. l8), the Wallington Fire Department on Ridge Rd. in Sodus will be having their Turkey Party from 7 to l0 p.m. (How is Fred? I haven't heard from him in a while.)

On Sunday, Nov. 19, the Heluva Good Country Store will hold its open house in Sodus from noon to 4 p.m. . There will be samples of all the Heluva Good products and a drawing for the Heluva Good gift basket. Sounds like a fun way to spend the afternoon (and think of all the good cheese and things you'll get to sample). The Store is nice and has many gift ideas. Christmas is right around the corner. In fact, Santa will begin making his appearances in the area soon. I'll let you know next week where to look for him.

The Wayne County Annual Bed And Breakfast Open House Tour is also Sunday. The tour is a drive-yourself tour and the homes are decorated for the holidays - another fun way to spend the afternoon. Refreshments will be served at each Bed And Breakfast, noon to 6. For more information, call 331.8415 today.

Another fun way to spend time with your family is at the Palace Theater in Wolcott. (We used to be there all the time. I'm sure Amber may have forgotten about us by now, but not those chocolate chip cookies.) Admission is $3 and the concessions are a great price, too.

Do you have a Holiday tradition or fun craft you make with your family for the Christmas tree? (Is there an easy way to string pine cones?)

It's almost time to pick out the family Christmas tree. Do you have a favorite place your family goes for your tree? Please write to me and tell me where you go. Have you found one that has a wagon ride where you pick the perfect tree and then have hot cider or hot chocolate with homemade cookies to enjoy afterward? Write to me at

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

And have a Happy Thanksgiving!
