happy xmas tree Clyde plans for Christmas

The Clyde Chamber of Commerce has finalized plans for this year's Christmas program. The program will consist of several planned activities.

The Chamber, the Village of Clyde and the merchants are having a '24 days of gifts' distributed by the kind hand of Clyde's merchants. For the 24 days beginning Dec. 1 through the 24th, Clyde merchants have donated Christmas gifts to be given away each day. Darrell Marriott will hold a daily drawing. Tickets will be available at local merchants.

Christmas caroling on November 24 and will be lead by Hugh Miner. The caroling will start at the Methodist Church and end in the Village park prior to the lighting ceremony. Hot chocolate and doughnuts will be provided by the Chamber and served by the local Boy Scout troops.

smiling presents Santa will be busy on November 24 and the following three weekends, distributing goodies for the children compliments of the Clyde Chamber. This year Santa will be arriving in style. He will be coming in a limo provided by Andy Davis.

Also on November 24 the Village will be lighting the Christmas scenes in the Village Park, along with the miniature lights that will be installed by the Village employees. Jeff and Erica Rice will decorate the Gazebo in the Village Park. A student from Clyde Elementary will be selected by drawing to turn on the lights.

The Chamber will have a lighting contest for residents and commercial businesses, with prizes donated by Key Bank and NYSEG. Each supporter will make three prizes available to contestants. Judging will be done December 20.

Clyde will place their displays of 36 angels and 19 Christmas banners around the Village, so if you get a chance, drive through Clyde and check out our merchants stores and Christmas activities.
