Sheriff wants unusable child safety seats The Wayne County Sheriff's office is sponsoring a bounty program for the child passenger safety seat program. This will be December 15 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Sheriff's office located at 7308 Route 31, Lyons.The bounty program is an incentive to turn in child safety seats that have been recalled but not repaired, have been in a crash, show signs of aging plastic, or are over six years old. You must be a county resident in order to participate. A movie ticket will be given out for each car seat turned in, up to a limit of three seats per family. This is not a car seat check, but a program to help reduce the number of damaged, old, or recalled car seats still in use. The Sheriff is being assisted by Public Health.
