Well can you believe Thanksgiving is here already?! (If you stop by the Block Buster Video Store in Ontario be sure to say hi to Janet Leschhorn. She'll be working... could be a busy day.)

Well it may be cold here but, according to Ralph Everdyke and Eileen Hooper, Florida is a mild 80 degrees. I spoke to Eileen the other night and she had gone for a nice walk in a sleeveless dress. Won't find too many people doing that around here! Eileen's Mom, Betty, will be coming up North to visit other members of the family for a few days during the Holidays, so Eileen's bunch had a special Thanksgiving dinner already this week and will be celebrating on Thanksgiving Day as well. (So much turkey, so little time.) Eileen is another one who will be working on Thanksgiving Day... she works at Walt Disney World.

dinner dogs We had the opportunity to see the Dinner Dogs the other day at the library. The last time we heard them play was in Williamson a while ago. They sounded great then and sound even better now. (We, of course, had to buy the CD.) You can visit their website at www.dinnerdogs.com

At the site, you can find games, as well as information on how to purchase their tapes, CDs and posters. The group still has two of the original members - Dick Leschhorn and Tim Clark - and they have a new girl - LuAnn Arena.

The School House Country Store, on the corner of Maxwell Rd. and Lake Rd. in Sodus, will be having a Holiday Open house on Friday and Saturday, from l0 a.m. to 6 p.m. The School House is an original one room schoolhouse.

Also on Saturday, Santa will be arriving in Williamson on Main Street. He will make his appearance at ll:30 and the lighting of the tree will be at noon. Santa's visit is sponsored by the Williamson Chamber of Commerce.

Santa is going to be a busy guy on Saturday. He will arrive at the L.W. Emporium on Knickerbocker Rd., Ontario, by the noon train. He'll visit the Emporium every Saturday and Sunday from l - 3 p.m. until Christmas. Sounds like a great Christmas photo opportunity for Moms and Dads. When you get the chance ,please check out the Emporiums web site at www.lwemporium.com

I'm off to nurse a nasty cold my family shared with me. (I guess when I taught the kids to share, I should have been more specific!) Have a great Thanksgiving.

If you have an event or fun Holiday tradition you'd like to share, please write to me at

I look forward to hearing from you.
