Marion Christmas Committee helping needy

The Marion Community Christmas Committee is already at work identifying Marion families, who may need assistance during the holidays. Proceeds from the annual Community Winter Concert and donations from business's and organizations will be used to provide food baskets, turkeys and gift certificates for food for those less fortunate. Poinsettias will be delivered to the elderly and those in nursing homes and hospitals. Gifts donated for children and the shut-ins are distributed at this time.

The committee, local clergy and school nurses will be compiling a list of names of people who would benefit from this program.

If you wish to be included on this list, or if you know of someone who may need assistance, contact Helen Dingman, Marion Community Christmas Chairperson, at 926.-4370. Anne Owens, Elementary School nurse, at 926.2344 or Barb Lammers, High School nurse, at 926.2306 by Monday, Nov. 27.

This year's Community Winter Concert will be December 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the high school.
