By Melissa White

It's nice after having some colder days to have warm 60+ days. (Wouldn't it be nice if that happened all winter?) The next time I hear from Ralph Everdyke he'll be back in Florida thinking of us on those chilly days.

pondThere's a Roast Beef Supper tomorrow at the East Williamson Fire Hall. Take-outs will be available, and they'll be serving from 4:30 to 7.

And tomorrow's the last day for the Rummage Sale at the First Reformed Church of Sodus. A Baked goods sale starts at 9 tomorrow morning, and the Bag Sale is from 9 to 1.

Don't forget tonight and tomorrow night, they're holding the Candlelight Cemetery Tours at Sunnyside Cemetery in Williamson. Historian Chet Peters is the tour guide, with cider and doughnuts after at the Legion. The tours start at 7 & 8 p.m. and are $5 per person. (Dress warmly and bring a flashlight.)

Sunday morning, you can enjoy a Pancake Breakfast at the Williamson Fire Hall, 8 a.m. to noon. For $4.50, an adult can have pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage & drinks. Seniors pay only $4, and kids 6-12 only $3.50.

The Sodus Free Library will be having a Books Sandwiched In on Thursday, October the 19 at ll:30. Jean Seymour will be reviewing the four Harry Potter books from a Grandma's/Grownup's point of view. A fee of $2 will cover a sandwich, pie and a beverage. You can sign up until the 17th.

Have you visited Alasa Farms lately? The farm, located on 6450 Shaker Rd. in Alton, is an historical Shaker Farm with many sites to see and enjoy. We went on a tour of the Farm and had a lot of fun. You can pick your own apples during the month of October from the semi-dwarf trees. There are hayrides, farm animals, barn tours, and a nature trail to walk. Alasa Farms is a big place and it's a nice place to spend a Saturday afternoon with your family. The Farm is open from l0-4 until October 22. Call 315.483.6321 for more information.

Mark your calendars, Lukacs Pottery Studio will be having their open house and sale from l0 to 6 on Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22. The Studio is located on 7060 Rte. 14 in Sodus Point. For more information, call 483.4357. We went with a group of kids and their Moms a while ago and found the Studio to be interesting. Lukacs is sunsetopen Tuesday through Sunday, from l0 to 6, April through Christmas, and other times by appointment, 315.483.4357.

The 16th Annual Halloween Antique,Collectible Show and Sale will be held on Saturday, October 28 from 9 to 4. It's sponsored by the Friends of Music at the Wayne Central Middle School. The event will be held at the Wayne Central Middle School on Rt. 350 in Ontario Center, Ontario. There will be many things available to purchase - Wayne County memorabilia, folk art, pottery, antiques and collectibles. Proceeds will be used to fund both the band and chorus. There will be ample parking. Donations will be $3 and home cooking is available. There are just too many great things to mention.

When you're out and about having fun on the hayrides and pumpkin patches think of the column. Keep a few things in mind you'd like to share and remember me when you're eating that donut with the chocolate frosting. Please write to me at

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
