Harp concert at Newark church

Park Presbyterian Church at 110 Maple Court, Newark, will bring you Roxanne Ziegler and John Gaspar in a Harp Duo Concert as part of its Concert Series 2000. Five of Ziegler's students will join them for several multi-harp selections.

The concert will be given in the sanctuary of Park Church, Newark, at 4 p.m. on October 15.

A resident of Fairport, Ziegler is known in the area as teacher, performer, and recording artist. She has a B.S. in music performance from Nazareth College of Rochester, and has performed in concert for the American Harp Society in Boston, for harp workshops at the Eastman School and for live broadcasts on WXXI-FM among her many accomplishments.

She appeared at Park Church in a Celtic Concert with Mitzi Collins in 1998.

Gaspar was educated at Nazareth College and the Eastman School, and was a pupil of Ziegler. He is a music teacher in the Gates-Chili Central Schools and is Director of Music at Holy Cross Church in Rochester. He has extensive performance experience since 1992, and has had solo recitals at the Memorial Art Gallery, the Wolcott Free Library, and at the School of the Arts, Rochester.

The duo plays for weddings, parties, and corporate events.

The concert at Park Church is free to the public, but a freewill offering is welcome.
