The outhouses of Wayne County

The County Historical Society will be producing a 16-month calendar for the year 2001/2002 that will feature the Outhouses of Wayne County (similar to The Bridges of Madison County).

The plan is to include a privy from each of the 15 towns with some outhouse trivia on each page.

What the Society needs are the locations of outhouses around the county, so someone can take pictures of the structures during the different seasons of the year. If you would like your outhouse included, or know of a perfect privy, please contact the society office, 946.4943.

WCHS will contact the outhouse owner and get permission to have the structure included in our fund-raising calendar.
