Marion Harvest Festival is Oct. 21

Caroline photo The annual Marion Harvest Festival will take place Saturday, October 21, beginning at 9:40 a.m. downtown.

Food booths will be manned by Marion young folks, eager to serve you with hots and hamburgers and the tasty, treat of fried dough. MaryEllen's Restaurant will be open at the usual early hour with a special menu arranged for this special day.

There will be pie sales available from the Ladies of the Eastern Star and other things to try or to take home.

Your Marion Museum will be open for viewing the displays and collections housed there. The gift shop will be open so that you can add to your Christmas shopping list, and in the former court room there will be an assembly of traditional crafts being shown and explained.

(Pictured from last year's festival is Marion Historian Carolyn Adriaansen demonstrating how to make soap.)

The Marion Town Library will be holding its annual book sale right in front of their big glass window, so come early and look over the bargains, 'cause winter's on its way!

While you're in town, you can plan to stop at the Leaning Barn where gifts and collectibles abound. While at the Barn, or at the Marion Museum, you can purchase raffle tickets for the Marion Historic Association's 1998 Historic Woven Coverlet.
