Newark Chamber holds annual dinner

  For the 30th straight year, the Greater Newark Chamber of Commerce gathered to honor outstanding citizens or community organizations Tuesday night.

David Doebler & Diann Roffe-Steinrotter Chamber President David Doebler presided over the dinner and program set around a theme entitled 'Make Your Business a Box Office Hit.'

Diann Roffe-Steinrotter, former Olympic Gold Medalist, who lives here on Jungle Road, was the evening's speaker, recounting some of her experiences during her career. She was introduced by chamber director, Ted O'Toole.

The annual award presentation rounded out the affair with Judy Carl introducing retired teacher,Cathy Utter as Citizen of the Year for Education; Dr. Steve Mooney presenting John Butera and the Newark Rotary Club as Organization of the Year; and Newark businessman, Dick Colacino being introduced by Michael Muscolino and honored as Citizen of the Year.

Also at the Annual Dinner meeting, Chamber members begin a new business year with a new slate of officers and directors.

Chamber President David Doebler will serve another term, assisted by Vice President Diana Lagenor.

The Greater Newark Chamber of Commerce celebrates over 75 years of serving local business and the community.
