Golden Olympics set for Sept. 9

On September 9, area nursing homes will be getting together to compete in the Golden Olympics.

This event will be held at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Palmyra. Taking part will be residents from the Wayne County Nursing Home, Clifton Springs Hospital long term care unit, Crest Manor, DeMay Living Center, Sodus Blossom View nursing home, St. Ann's nursing home and Fairport Baptist Nursing Home.

The events of the day include a picnic style lunch, ribbons, plaques and entertainment. The elderly look forward to this outing, made possible by the support of the community, generous donations from businesses, vendors and organizations.
