County Home residents 'gone fishin'

Something is fishy at the Wayne County Nursing Home - a big bucket of fish when 14 residents from the Wayne County Nursing Home had a fishing contest. The event was hosted at the pond of Don Colvin on Hogback Rd., Savannah.

The fishing exhibition was held August 30. There were plenty of spectators, as well as helping hands of all ages, from four months to 93 years.

A picnic lunch was provided. The weather was perfect and the fish were biting.

The big winner was Magdalena Geldof, age 85, who caught the largest catch of the day! She won a bottle of wine, compliments of Linda Oakey. Louise Allen (pictured) won a bottle of wine for catching the most fish.
