Marion Library News

It has been a busy summer here at the Marion Public Library as we 'Discovered 2000' during our summer reading program. Many young people enjoyed participating in our programs. This summer showed the highest attendance ever at our craft/story/snack afternoons. Many thanks to Laura Foley and Melissa Bond for their help with these sessions.

Speaking of thanks, we cannot forget our business sponsors, Marion Pharmacy, Marion Agency, Tee Glass and Hadley's Fab Weld. Your support allows out summer reading program to exist and grow. Then there is Elyse Bushart, who volunteered in the library this summer doing whatever needed to be done.

This week finds us busily preparing for our Fall and Winter Storytime program here at the library. This program for three- and four-year-olds will begin the first week in October. Sessions will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 9:15-10 a.m. Children must be three by December 1, 2000 to attend. Registration will be ongoing during the month of September. Call the library at 926.4933 for additional information.

Also, don't forget our book sale to be held at the second annual Marion Harvest Festival Saturday, October 21. We are excited about this fall sale and have lots of books, videos and children's books for sale.
