scarecrow Contests at Lyons Farmers' Market

The Lyons Farmers' Market is hosting two contests. On Saturday, October 7, kids and adults are invited to bring their hand-made scarecrows to the Lyons Village Park between 9:30 and 10 a.m. so that the public can cast a vote for their favorites.

Prizes of $25, $15 and $10 will be awarded for each of the kids' and adult categories (six prizes).

On Saturday, October 28, a Halloween costume contest will be held at the Market. Please arrive in your original, hand-made outfit (no commercial costumes, please) between 9:30 and 10 for the audience to view and pick the winners. The same cash prizes will be awarded in both the kids' and adult categories.

The contests are sponsored by the Lyons Chamber of Commerce and the Lyons National Bank. The Lyons Farmers' Market, open each Saturday from 7:30 to 11 a.m., will close for the season following the Halloween contest on October 28.
