County fish derby winners Pennsylvania angler Dave Antenori won the GrandSlam Division of Wayne County's 5GrandSlam and Merchants Challenge Fishing Derby, and took home $850 for his fishing skills. Antenori fishes Wayne County waters with his buddy, Joseph Nogick. Both anglers reside in Peckville, PA. Nogick grabbed $175 for his third-place finish in the derby. Antenori's winning weight was 96 lbs. 13 oz.; while Nogick won his cash and trophy with 86 lbs. 2 oz. After qualifying, the derby entrants can add to their weight by catching larger fish. Dave DiFranco won the Merchants Challenge Division from Sodus Point. This Division consists of the five warm water species of fish (pike, perch, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and walleye). In the Youth Division, Justin LaPage from Williamson won a 12-foot aluminum boat, complete with oars and a safety package. LaPage won the Merchants Challenge Division. Matt Zalucki of Massachusetts won a Dreamscape Video Package, a rod and reel, and other assorted fishing lures. The total payout for adults was $5000 while the Youth Division consisted of prizes and merchandise. The contest paid cash through fifth place for the adults in the GrandSlam and Merchants Division, with an added bonus of $100 for catching the largest species. There was also $1500 in prizes given out during special drawings throughout the derby, which started April 1 and continued until September 4. Close to 350 anglers fished during the county derby. Derby winners received their prizes and trophies during the awards ceremony, which was held September 10th during GrandSlam Day at Sodus Point.
