She graduated from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester with an Associate's degree in Educational Interpreting. Sherri, who is not deaf, lived in the dormitory with deaf students, thus enhancing her education in both communicating and awareness.

She teaches middle school students in ASL and Deaf Culture.

The charge for the program is $5 per night. No reservations are required and the program is open to the public. Plan on attending to learn more about communicating with your deaf neighbors.
