Rose & flower sale in Newark

Newark's Rose Committee is having their annual Rose and Flower Sale April 23 through May 3.

The proceeds from this sale are used to create and maintain flower gardens throughout the community. The Newark Rose Committee plants the gardens with proceeds generated by student's fundraising efforts of the Newark Central School District and St. Michael School.

These garden projects include work at the Newark Quality Inn, WCTA, St. Michael School, the Park at Showplace 6 Theater, and the T. Spencer Knight Park. Plans for this year include new flower garden projects at Lincoln, Perkins, and Kelley Schools, and The Arcadia Historical Society.

This year's sale will feature miniature rose plants at $5 each, Floral Mums at 2 for $5, and 12-pack flats of Begonias for $5.

Students will be taking orders door to door, but if you are not home when they come by, you may order your flowers by phone on the Committee Rose Sale Hotline at 331.7537.

The generous support of the Newark community has allowed us to plant these many gardens, with your continued support we will continue to plant additional flower gardens each year.
