Walk for March of Dimes in Newark

More than 150 people will take the first steps toward saving babies in 2001, when they join the March of Dimes on Saturday, April 28 at Alex Eligh Community Center, Newark.

learn more The annual event is WalkAmerica, Newark's biggest walk that raises awareness and funds for healthier babies in our community.

'For more than 30 years, funds raised from WalkAmerica have profoundly strengthened the March of Dimes fight to give every baby the best chance for a healthy start in life,' said Mark Santelli, WalkAmerica Chairperson. 'WalkAmerica dollars have supported our research and targeted community programs across the country and right here in Wayne County.'

The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health organization whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant community services, education, and advocacy to save babies. More information may be obtained by calling 1.800.BIG.WALK.
