Seasonal services in Lyons

The Inter-Church Council of Lyons is organizing a Good Friday Processional at noon. The procession of the cross will begin at St. Michael's, move to St. John's Lutheran Church, the Lyons Presbyterian Church, United Methodist Church, and finally, to Grace Episcopal.

At each stop, the pastors will read a portion of the story of Good Friday as told in Matthew's gospel.

Good Friday concert Janet Buell will be performing a program of organ music on April 13 at 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Lyons. Free and open to the public.

Ecumenical Easter Sunrise Service Members of The United Methodist Church and The First Presbyterian Church will celebrate Easter together at a Sunrise Service at 6:30. The Rev. James Carroll, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Lyons will lead the service at The Boss Farm, 2625 Bastian Rd., Lyons.

Following the service, there will be a free Easter breakfast at the Presbyterian Church of Lyons at 11 Queen Street, hosted by the deacons. If weather is inclement, the sunrise service will be held in the Presbyterian Church. Everyone is welcome.

Everyone is invited to celebrate Easter at the First Presbyterian Church of Lyons. The worship service begins at 10 a.m., April 15. Special music is planned by the choir, which is under the direction of Camille Clark, accompanied by organist Janet Buell. The Rev. Cynthia Huling Hummel's meditation is 'They Remembered!' The church will honor two 50-year members, William 'Bud' McIntyre and Dorothy Lauster, both of Lyons. Following worship, there will be a special reception honoring all 50-year members and their guests.

Nursery care is provided for infants and toddlers. The Presbyterian Church is located at the corner of Queen and Broad Streets.
