Open House at WCHS shelter

An open house at the Humane Society Shelter will be held Sunday, May 6 at 1475 County House Road, Lyons, from 11 to 3. Meet the staff and volunteers, tour the shelter and see our new isolation room.

Perhaps you will find that very special friend you have been looking for. Meet some local veterinarians and learn about the latest in veterinary care. Folks from Newark Veterinary Hospital and Macedon Veterinary Care will be on hand. Learn about the benefits of having your companion pet micro-chipped.

Register to win door prizes. Buy a raffle ticket and a paw print to help kick off 'The Lend a Paw Campaign.' All the money raised from this open house goes directly to the care of shelter residents.

Register early for this year's 5th Annual Walk-A-Thon 2001 to be held Sunday, September 30. All pre-registered participants will receive a free Kong and are guaranteed a T-shirt.

See the 4-H Dog Club Drill team, training and agility demonstrations. Learn pet First Aid from the American Red Cross. Meet Whisper the Llama, Cassey and Hillary (a miniature horse and donkey), and meet some friendly goats.

Refreshments will be served compliments of Wegmans, Wal-Mart and the Humane Society of Wayne County Board of Directors.

Bring the family and come join the fun at the shelter on May 6. For more information call 946.3389.
