The Senior Class of 2001 is holding their Chicken barbecue and bottle collection on Sunday, April 29 at the Elementary School. Pre-sale tickets can be obtained from any Senior class student or at the Marion Pharmacy, downtown. Serving time is from 11 to 3 with the pre-sale ticket holders picking up their dinners by 1 o'clock. Pack up your bottles and cans and stop by and support BASH for the graduating seniors. All dinners are $6.

Kyle Haak presented the Ministry of Music at the Second Reformed Church on April 22.

Mark and Diane Allegretti from Child Evangelism Fellowship shared a Moment for Mission at the Second Reformed Church last Sunday.

Pearl and Henry Ververs of the Marion Road returned from a two-week trip to Branson, Missouri. They saw 16 shows and celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. They had a great time, weather was nice and the flowers and trees were beautiful.

Welcome Home! to Bruce and Ethel Stone from their winter stay in the sunny south.

APRIL 25, 1957: Dr. D.W. Bovet, the town health officer, reminds residents of annual Spring Clean-up Day which will be held Thursday. Town truck will cover all streets in the village and haul away everything left at the curb except garbage.

Family Night Roller Skating Party is today, April 27, 7:30 p.m., sponsored by the Marion PTA in the Elementary School gym. All students must be accompanied by an adult.

April 30 is the last day of the Magazine Sale.

Sports notes: Tennis team had singles wins from A.J. Casper, Shane Miller and Jeremy Hall and Marion won 4-1 over Sodus. The team lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at North Rose-Wolcott. Andrew Krocke notched his first varsity singles win and Shawn Taylor and A.J. Casper were victorious at first doubles. The JV tennis team lost to NRW by a 5-0 score. Varsity beat Williamson 4-1, while JV team won 5-0.

Track girls did well at Newark. Jessica Grass and Mary Ann Boerman placed in several events. The girls beat Red Creek, led by Becky Plyter's victories in shot put, discus and high jump.

Track boys made a comeback and Craig Dolecki won four first places to beat Gananda 65-63 on April 23. Lyons beat Marion 92-48. At the Newark Spring Break-out, Marion's 1600m relay team (Tim Moran, Josh Crocker, Mike Levis, Craig Dolecki) finished fourth.

Baseball team lost to East Rochester 3-2.

Softball: Marion defeated Lyons 11-7, lost 7-6 to East Rochester, defeated NRW 19-3.

Golf team played an excellent round in difficult conditions at Wayne Hills, beating Lyons and losing to Clyde-Savannah.
