Another confusing week (weather-wise). I guess it's safest to have coats for all seasons in the closet. It's so nice to see the pretty spring flowers out. (I miss my Sodus neighbor's pretty garden along the fence. When her flowers began to bloom and the kids were much younger, they'd go out and smell the hyacinths.) Ralph and Betty Everdyke should be back to Newark any day now. (I hope they have brought warm jackets.) The Sodus Bay Sportsmens Club on Margaretta Rd. in Sodus Point will be having a Chicken and Biscuit dinner from 4-7:30 p.m. tomorrow (Sat., April 28). On Sunday (April 29), the Wallington Fire Department will be having another wonderful Pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. All you can eat for $5 adults, $4 Seniors, and $3 for children. On Monday, there will be a Clothing Drive at St. Michael's School in Newark from 4-7 p.m. Speaking of St. Michael's, do you remember Father John Gagnier? He was at Mother Of Sorrows Parish for a while, and now has his own Parish - St. Dominic Church in Shortsville. Don't forget the Kid's Mother Day Class next Tuesday (May 1) at the Kraft Shack. (Have you seen Ruth Lennox at any of these classes? Say 'hi' for me...)
Speaking of Alice, she has informed me that the Harvest Fellowship Church has a food and clothing closet which is open to all residents of Wayne County. Regular hours are Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m.; and the second and fourth Saturday of the month from l to 4 p.m. If you have an emergency situation, you can contact Alice, Jane or Angel at 483.0252 and leave a message. (Thanks, Alice.) Sodus and Williamson will be having a special guest the first Saturday of May. The Sodus Free Library and the Williamson Public Library have announced that Dominic Catalano will visit on Saturday, May 5. Born in Syracuse, Catalano earned a B.S. in art education at SUNY Buffalo, a Master's Degree in fine arts at SUNY Oswego, and an M.F.A. in illustration at Syracuse University. His illustrations have appeared in a number of children's magazines and books. His presentation will be suitable for all ages and will include an airbrush demonstration. Both libraries will have a sampling of his books for sale, and Catalano will be available to autograph copies. The program will be held at the Sodus Library at 10:30 a.m., and at the Williamson Library at 1 p.m. For more information, call 483.9292 (Sodus) or 589.2048 (Williamson).
Thanks to everyone who sent me info. Have a great week. I think spring is here to stay... it better be... I've given the dogs their spring baths and washed my car !
