Newark Rose Committee enhances museum
ralph marcano

Ralph Marcano planted roses last week, on behalf of the Newark Rose Committee.

The Committee purchased roses from Jackson & Perkins for the museum on High Street. The new plantings are Red Carpet roses, and 'Snow Owl' Rugosa Roses.

Jackson & Perkins  was founded in 1872 in Newark, and the Rose Gardens in Newark were visited by as many as 500,000 visitors a year. The annual Rose Festival was a huge event.
