The fair is in full swing in Palmyra, with entertainment, food, rides, children's activities, magic and more. 4-H exhibits and 4-H shows are keeping young and old busy every day.
Thursday will be Grange Day. The 4-H English horse show at 9 a.m. is the first event. This is followed by the dairy show at 9:30, chicken and pork chop BBQ at noon, rabbit show and gladiolus sale at 1, and shooting sports gallery events from 2-8 p.m.
Friday is Firemen's Day, and there's a big parade at 7 p.m. Rides open at 3 p.m. and the Heluva Good Cheese Recipe Competition begins at 4. Also at 4 is the watermelon eating contest.
Saturday, August 18 is Youth Day, with a kiddie parade at 10 and chicken barbecue at noon. Rides open at 1 p.m. Saturday, with four hours of rides available for just $9. The Martial Arts demo is at 5, K-9 demo at 5:30, line dancers at 6, demolition derby at 7 and 'Echoes of Elvis' at 8:30 p.m. The fair closes Saturday night. Copyright ©
