Arcadia family and friends climb Mt. Marcy
Benedict family

On August 11, the Rev. Daniel Benedict (age 78) climbed Mt. Marcy, the highest point in New York State, with family members and friends. It was his fifth time climbing this mountain; his first ascent was well over 60 years ago.

The trail to the top of Marcy is 7.4 miles to an elevation of 5344 ft. Edith Benedict, his wife, hiked as far as Indian Falls on the trial (a total of nine miles round trip).

Pictured in front are Kailee Bialaszewski and Joshua Doan; in back are Ryan and Aaron Bialaszewski, Dan Benedict, Micah, Bob and Becky Bialaszewski.

Ryan Bialaszewski flew in from California to climb with his grandfather. Aaron Bialaszewski flew in from Texas for the hike. Also hiking to the top were Micah and Kailee Bialaszewski, Bob and Becky Bialaszewski and Joshua Doan - a grandson from Penn Yan, Ryan's friends from California, Kristin Haley and Joshua Bender, and Jessalyn Haley from New Hampshire.
