Canaltown Chorale performs this weekend

The Canaltown Chorale will present its annual Christmas concerts on Saturday, December 8 at 7 p.m. at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, S. Main St., Newark and on Sunday, December 9 at 4 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, corner of Church and Main in Palmyra. A suggested donation of $3 per person will be accepted at the door.

The Chorale will perform a sampling of music from the past six hundred years. Music will include Ave Maria by Palestrina; Rejoice, Beloved Christians by Dietrich Buxtehude and a number of familiar and traditional Christmas Carols from the many different time periods. There will also be an audience sing-a-long of several carols.

The Chorale will be under the direction of Gregg S. Christiansen. Richard Crooks will accompany the Chorale on piano and organ.

These concerts are made possible in part with public funds from the New York State Council of the Arts' Decentralization Program, which is administered locally by the Cider Mill Regional Arts Council.
