Historical Program kits for the elderly

The Wayne County Historical Society is making educational program kits available to nursing homes and elder care sites for interactive entertainment.

Each kit includes artifacts from the Society's collections, information about them, and a tape recorder to record the reaction and recollections of the persons as they examine the contents of the kit.

Topics available are:

• The One-room School
• The Country Doctor
• The General Store
• The Civil War and the Underground Railroad
• Before the First Settlers
• Pioneer Everyday Life, and
• The Erie Canal.
