The town is planning a reception for Monica Deyo on December 17 from 1-4 p.m. at the Town Hall on North Main St.

A local gal is in the book, Who's Who Among American High School Students. She is Bethaney Santangelo, a sophomore, daughter of Marchia and Bill. Congratulations!!

A roast beef supper is planned this evening at the American Legion Home. After a day of shopping, you'll be sure to enjoy a delicious dinner out.

Word has been received of the passing of Alice C. Ihrman in Holland, Michigan on November 15. Alice was the daughter of Rev. Peter Ihrman who was the first minister of the Second Reformed Church when it was built in 1910. She was a childhood friend of our beloved Margaret Curtis.

Winner of the Marion coverlet offered at the museum during last weekend's festivities is Jody Bender.

Thanks! To the Marion Brownies and Girl Scouts, along with parents and leaders who went-a-caroling around Marion Monday evening.

The Women's Guild of the United Church extends an invitation to join them on Tuesday, December 18 at noon in the Margaret Curtis Fellowship Hall for lunch and to hear guest speaker, Al Lutz, director of development at Upstate Home for Adults and Children Inc., in Oneonta. Please bring a sandwich and beverage; dessert will be provided.

The Winter Concert will be held on Monday, December 17 with grades 9-12, Band and Chorus at 7:30 p.m. at the High School Auditorium. Marion Community Christmas Committee will be collecting donations at the concert.

December 14: Family Night Roller Skating Party, sponsored by the Marion PTA from 7-8:30 on the Elementary School Gym. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

December 18: Band citrus pick-up and delivery day and last week for 'Penny Fund.'

December 20: 5th and 6th grade Chorus Concert at 7 p.m. at the Elementary School.

December 28: Red Cross Blood Drive at the American Legion Home.

December 10, 1942: A community 'White Gift Service,' sponsored jointly by the PTA and the local churches, will be held Sunday evening at the High School Auditorium.

Dear Dan, We had a sprinkling of snow on Saturday. Some of us were waiting for the white stuff.
