Kara Butterfield Christmas program at EPCS

They came, they saw, and they enjoyed. The East Palmyra Christian School community was treated to an evening of song and celebration last Friday. It was the East Palmyra Christian School Christmas Program.

The EPCS Band, under the direction of Kathy Cornwell, is composed of some 25 fourth through eighth graders. The band played a number of Christmas selections. (Mrs. Cornwell also took the opportunity to announce that eight fifth and sixth grade members of the band had been chosen for Elementary All County Band.)

EPCS Chorus director, Nanita Szarek of Newark, led her singers and actors through the Christmas musical, Wise Guys and Starry Skies, written by Kathie Hill and based on the Biblical story of the journey of the Magi in search of Jesus' birth. Students were cooks, camel girls and boys, and wise men (wise guys) as they sang the gospel story in solos, duets, and chorus selections, accompanied by pianist Heather Van Dusen and oboist Ray Szarek.
