Newark Pastor will review book

The Friends of the Newark Public Library will hold the February Book Review luncheon on Friday, February 9 at noon at the library on High Street.

The Reverend Timothy Johnson, pastor of the Park Presbyterian Church, will be the guest speaker.

Rev. Johnson will review the book Blood Brothers by Elias Chacour, a Palestinian Christian born in 1939. He and his family were displaced from northern Palestine in 1948 by Zionists when Israel was recognized by the United Nations as an independent sovereign nation.

Chacour tells his story of being a refugee in the land where his family had lived for centuries. After an opportunity to be educated in France, Chacour returns to his native land and becomes a disciple of peace and reconciliation.

Reservations for the $3 luncheon may be made by calling the Newark Library at 331.4370.
