tree on house Late Friday night and Saturday morning, a severe storm front moved across the entire region.

Strong winds caused numerous power outages from fallen trees and wires down in many areas. Power was out for many residents of Lyons, Newark and Palmyra. There were also many smaller outages scattered throughout area. By 6 a.m. Saturday, about 4000 NYSEG customers were without electric power.

Wind gusts up to 80 mph were reported in Sodus.

Scott Street in Newark was closed to traffic when a power line came down near Chapman's Blue Brick Inn.
