Family registration planned at St. Mike's

New family registration will begin on March 1 for new students at St. Michael School in Newark. Kindergartners must be five years old by December 1.

St. Michael School houses grades pre-kindergarten to eighth. The school plans to have one kindergarten, first, second, and eighth grade in September; and two classes of third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grades.

The school offers all of the academics including reading, math, social studies, science, health, language arts, computer, art, music, and physical education.

Religion classes are taught every day with the integration of Christianity throughout the entire school day. Prayers are said in the morning as a student body, while grace before lunch and the end of the day prayers are said in each homeroom.

Private piano and instrumental classes are offered during the school day. The school has beginner and advanced bands. Sports and various extra-curricular activities are offered.

Registration will be on a 'first come - first served' basis with possible waiting lists in some grades. When registering, a birth certificate is necessary. A non-refundable $100 deposit, which comes off the fall's tuition, is also necessary to guarantee a child's registration.
