Recently, 400 children visited the United Church when problems at the Marion Elementary School across the street forced them out into the street. For many years the school has had permission of the Church Trustee Board to use the facilities in case of emergency, but not until now has it been necessary to use them.

Can you remember when our Evergreen Street was nicknamed 'PILL ALLEY'? Know why? It was because there was a doctor living on both ends of the street, one being Dr. Daniel Richards on Union Street and the other Dr. Orrin Babcock, grandfather of Elizabeth Kilbourne Mills, on the corner of Evergreen and North Main Street.

Karen Wise has returned home following surgery.

COMING! Chicken and Biscuit Dinner at the United Church on March 5.

John and Eileen Ballesty have returned home following a month long vacation where they visited with family members. Travels began with a stop at Blessed Padre Pio at Barto, PA before going to Virginia Beach where they toured the extensive Edgar Cayce Museum and spent time looking around and on the beach where there were few people due to the colder weather. A couple of weeks were spent with son, David and Barb, near Lake Norman in North Carolina before traveling through the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountain area around Blooming Rock. Another special time was had with son, Danny and Joyce and the four grandchildren before heading back to Marion.
