February 27 is Marion Eighth Grade Planning Night.

Dorothy Hendricks informed me that her mother, Sarah Fisher Adriaansen DeNering worked at the Atlantic Hotel during her late teens in the early 1900's. To earn money she darned socks for people for 5 cents a pair, or less, while working there.

A USED CLOTHING DRIVE, sponsored by Scarlet Thread Ministries, will continue until March 5. With the help of St. Pauly Textile, your clothing will be reused in the U.S. and Third World Countries. Thread Student Center, 34 Mill St., Sodus. Accepted items include: clothes, shoes, belts purses, sheets, pillowcases, linens, blankets and drapes.

Congratulations! to Roger and Linda Hoffman on the birth of their first grandchild. Hunter Isaac Hoffman was born on February 12, weighing 8 lbs. 11 oz., to Scott and Lisa Hoffman, in New Jersey.

Winners! The Wayne Store and Lock spelling team (composed entirely of United Church members) defeated 11 other teams in a Rotary-sponsored spelling bee at Eastview Mall, raising money for the Literacy Volunteer of Wayne County. Don Alhart of Channel 13 news was the emcee for the event, which earned $15,000 for the Literacy Volunteers. The winning word was 'Eponymous.'

Marjorie Ocque is a patient at the Clifton Springs Hospital.

The Women's Guild at the Marion United Church met Feb. 20th at the home of Bunny Sewert. All women of the church were invited.

The United Church chicken and biscuit dinner will be March 5.

FEBRUARY 15, 1935: Marion School now has a fine new 16mm movie machine.

MasterMinds did a great job in defeating North Rose Wolcott 125-10. Chantel Lawliss lead the scoring with assists from Craig Dolecki and Mike Kucharski.
