Have you and your children enjoyed the week home from school? Things seem to have been quiet this week - a lot of Cabin Fever I'm sure. (Some, like Sarah, just can't get enough of the snow. Caesar comes into the house with little snowballs on his feet and chin.) It won't be long until it's be fishing season. People will be planting flowers, going for walks along the beach and then, before you know it, swimming in the pool. Next week is the beginning of March, and when you go to the library to check out books, the due dates make time just fly. I received a nice letter from Dorothy Harris the other day. While we were in Florida, we were so busy, we didn't have a chance to get together with them for dinner. She told me that, in l953, she was the area Correspondent for the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle covering Ontario, Williamson, Sodus, and Marion. Saturday, the Sodus Center Fire Hall will be having a Roast Beef Dinner at the Fire Hall, 5521 Main St. in Sodus Center. All-you-can-eat; serving begins at 5 p.m. until sold out The Lenten breakfast series in Sodus begins Wednesday morning at the United Third Methodist Church at 6:45 a.m. The series will continue each Wednesday through Lent. The Fairville Fire Hall will be sponsoring their famous Friday Lenten Fish Suppers beginning next Friday, March 2. Dinner includes fresh haddock (fried or broiled), baked potato, coleslaw, applesauce, rolls, dessert, coffee, tea or milk. The Fire Hall is Handicap accessible and take-outs are available. They start serving at 5 p.m. Congratulations to the Sodus Elementary School on the raising $326 for the earthquake victims in India. The Project was called A Gift of Love and it certainly did show the love and compassion the people of Sodus have for those in need.
Parent Support Connection for young parents, meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at the Sodus Head Start Building from 4-5:30 p.m. When you are a new mom nursing a baby you need a lot of support. Many times you are tired and just don't know where to turn. How wonderful to have a La Leche League to help you with your questions. The local league gathers Thursday mornings at 9:30 at 4l53 Pearsall Rd., Williamson. 24-hour phone help is available as well. You can call Scarlett 597.5426, Maureen 462.6021 and Coleen 789.0570 Please write to me and let me know what is new in your area. Do you have birthdays or special events coming up you'd like to see in the column? Just send me a note to and I can write them up for you. Have a great week and stay warm. Copyright
