Barber scholarship pancake breakfast A 'Hotcake and Sausage Breakfast' will be held Sunday, January 14 at the Williamson McDonald's to benefit the Timothy L. Barber Memorial Scholarship Fund. Barber was an employee at McDonald's in Williamson and, as a tribute to him, McDonald's has sponsored the breakfast each year since his death. The Scholarship Fund was established by Wayne Action for Racial Equality (WARE), a group in which he was involved. The fund provides scholarships to two Wayne County seniors who, like Barber, have worked toward achieving racial equality and are active in school, church and the community. The pancake breakfast will be held from 7-11 a.m. on January 14; tickets are $4 and $2.50. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available at the Williamson Come-Unity Center on Main Street in Williamson or by calling 483.4092.
