And yet another cold and snowy week, Brantling Hill must be covered enough for the whole ski season.

Not much seems to be going on this week. (It's hard to do too much when the weather is this nasty.) I hope everyone had a nice Holiday - a new year and a brand new start.

I did get a note from Joe VanHaelst, who is now in Bushnell, Florida - 40 miles from Disney. (Al Dobbin touched his life, too.) Joe followed Al at the post office after Al retired as Postmaster. Al made up a song at Joe's retirement in l989 and gave him a copy. Joe saw Al again in December at a Senior Citizen Dinner in Sodus. Joe's wife, Ellie, plays the keyboard for the Home Meals Service each Christmas at the dinner. She worked for the Home Meals Service and Joe also delivers meals in Newark. Yes, Joe, Al is in amazing shape and has a ton of energy, much more then I do. Thanks for your note , it's always fun to hear about the adventures of Al Dobbin. I've never seen Al without a smile on his face and a song or joke to share.

(Al, are you enjoying your trip down memory lane?)

If you'd like to share a fun event (or if you have a story about Al Dobbin), please write to me at

Have a great week and stay warm.
