Microenterprise Loan Program continues

Barbara Harper, Executive Director of the Wayne County Industrial Development Agency, announced that their application for a NYS Small Cities Community Development Block Grant to continue the Microenterprise Loan Program has been approved and funding will be available soon.

Under this program, low interest rate loans of up to $25,000 are made to new and expanding small businesses (five or fewer employees) with the aim of creating employment for low to moderate income persons in Wayne County. Loans may be used in conjunction with bank or other financing.

In addition, management and technical assistance is offered in the areas of business plan preparation, marketing, cash flow projections, bookkeeping and identifying other sources of financing-Assistance is also provided through workshops, seminars and the use of outside consultants.
