Boat Smart, Jet Smart classes

Red Jacket Power Squadron of the United States Power Squadrons, Sail and Power Boating will give BOAT SMART & JET SMART classes.

Adults and youth may attend at Canandaigua Academy starting January 17, 7-9 p.m., weekly for four to five weeks. JET SMART and BOAT SMART are needed for PWC Certificates. An adult must accompany anyone under 16.

Youths 18 and under need a certificate to operate alone. Save up to 10% on boat insurance. JET SMART for PWC operators. More than 30% of boat accidents involve operators under 18. The BOATSMART course costs $15 for text and materials (text can be shared); JETSMART costs $20 for text and tape (tape can be shared).
