Tax help for local senior citizens

The TCE program of Wayne County, sponsored by Wayne County Action Program, has a new volunteer coordinator - Gary DeMay of Marion.

The new location is in the Kane Building on the Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities Service Office campus in Newark. Senior citizens can now go to the Kane Building on East Maple Ave. in Newark, by appointment, to have their taxes done free of charge by the trained volunteers.

The TCE (tax counseling for the elderly) program offers free tax assistance to anyone who is 60 or older. Many TCE volunteers are retired themselves and all have been trained and certified to provide this service to you.

To make appointments or get additional information on the TCE program, call:

Main Office: 331.1700 - extension 2440; Mon. - Fri. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you have immediate questions, you may call the retired and senior volunteer program office at 946.0037.
