Did everyone enjoy their 4th of July? There was plenty to do and now we can rest from all the activity. I thought of Wayne County and the fireworks at the Point. The Carnival, Breakfast on the Bluff, the Lighthouse 5K, Gap Mangione and his Big Band...

(John Zornow was on hand at the Lighthouse and took some photos.)

This Sunday, at Sodus Point Lighthouse at 3 p.m., you can enjoy the music of the Finger Lakes Symphony Pops. And mark your calendars for next week: at l p.m. it's the Fiddlers of Genesee and an Ice Cream Social, and at 3, the Nostalgic Reunion will play mellow jazz.

Lorrie Zone, Ruthie Downey and Lorrie's sons, Cody and Scott, just returned from their trip to Disney. They had a great time.

The Sodus Free Library will be having sign up for their Summer Reading Program beginning July 9. The program will begin on the l6th and lasts for six weeks. Participants will be playing Readers' Bingo or Family Bingo. If people are going on trips, they can take along a Travel Bingo card. For each 'Bingo' they receive one Odyssey Dollar, which can be used for $1 worth of copying, printing, faxing, or purchasing used books. If they fill out the whole card - 5 Bingos - they get five Odyssey Dollars, which can be used for all of these things, or turned in for a prize. Also there will PJ Storytime , Reading Clubs, Storyhours, movies and a special program with Doug Rougeux the Bubbleman. Plenty of fun to keep everyone busy.

Have you signed the kids up for the Self Defense Class that will be given at the Williamson Public Library on July ll from 6:30 to 7:30? Each child who participates will be given a pass for one week at Kuk Sool Won Of Williamson. Don't forget to wear loose clothing so you can really get into your moves. Registration is necessary and you can do so by calling the library at 589.2048 All children ages 3 and up are welcome to the free class.

The Wayne County Senior Citizens will hold their annual picnic at B. Forman Park on Thursday, July 12. The event begins at noon.

Carol Garland and her husband went to Illinois to spend a few days with their son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Michelle. Carol has been so busy she needed the vacation.

turning pages At the Williamson Library Summer Reading Program on July l3, you can find Jim Bush and his hilarious Reading is Magic show at l p.m. Jim Bush is an excellent magician. We were always entertained by his amazing talents. On Monday, July l6, from l0 to 3, the mates can make creative ocean creatures to take home.
