Alloway princess in parade today More than 60 attended the annual Alloway picnic this past Sunday, held at the home of Amelia Engels. Master of Ceremonies was Dan LaGasse, who also made group photos of attendees. The Rev. Cynthia Hummel gave the invocation, Will Fischer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Fischer, led the Pledge of Allegiance. Erica Gansz sang the national anthem. Alloway scholarship awards were made to graduating seniors Erica Gansz and Amy Garrison at Lyons Central School commencement. Mary Long, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sean Long, was named Alloway Peppermint Princess. Mary will ride in the Peppermint Days parade in Lyons today at 6 p.m. She will ride in an antique cart pulled by her brothers. C.J. Britt is president of the Alloway Community. John Uveges is vice president, Barbara Hartman is secretary, and Amelia Engels is treasurer. The 2002 Alloway picnic will be held Sunday, July 7 at the home of Amelia Engels.
