Blood Drives planned; need is urgent

The American Red Cross is alarmed by a 10 percent drop in community blood donations recently.

Out of every 100 donations scheduled, only 80 individuals honored their appointments. That donor trend is compounded by a 12 percent increase in blood products needed by our communities in the same week.

Please schedule a donation today by calling 1.800.GIVE.LIFE (or 331.3783) or walk into any local blood drive. Any healthy person age 17 or older who weighs at least 110 pounds may be eligible to donate blood.
